ContainMed, Inc. Achieves ISO 13485:2003 Certification and Expands Operations
Indianapolis, IN – December 31, 2014 – ContainMed, Inc., designer and manufacturer of surgical instrument cases, trays, and screw/implant caddies announced today that it recently achieved ISO 13485:2003 certification, an internationally recognized quality standard for medical devices and diagnostics. The company has previously earned ISO 9001:2008 certification, a broadly established international quality
standard.
ISO 13485:2003 has been established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is the largest developer and publisher of international standards for the implementation of Quality Management Systems. The standard specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization must demonstrate its ability to provide medical devices and related services that consistently meet customer requirements. ContainMed’s certification was awarded by one of the largest and most respected ISO registrars in the world, NQA, also known as National Quality Assurance.

In conjunction with the quality management system certification, ContainMed also recently announced the expansion of its operations. ContainMed acquired a suite of machinery from its primary sheet metal supplier which now affords the company full, in-house sheet metal capabilities. The additional equipment necessitated a move of manufacturing facilities to 5391 West 86th street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268. “2015 will be a pivotal year for ContainMed. With the 13485 certification along with having more control over our manufacturing, we have put all of the critical elements into place for continued growth. We look forward to further developing our relationships with existing customers and expanding our services to new customers that were requiring these factors be implemented as a prerequisite to do business”.
