ContainMed, Inc. Expands Operations to New Indianapolis Location
Indianapolis, IN – December 22, 2014 – ContainMed, Inc., designer and manufacturer of surgical instrument cases, trays, and screw/implant caddies officially announced today the expansion of its operations with a move of manufacturing facilities to 5391 West 86th street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46268.
Tyler Deal, Chief Operating Officer of ContainMed, states, “The primary factor for the move is scalability. ContainMed began the process of bringing previously outsourced processes in-house back in May of this year. We were able to do this by absorbing a majority of machinery from our previous main subcontractor’s sheet metal business. The 19,600 sq. ft. facility will accommodate the added equipment along with additional office space for projected increases in personnel”.
ContainMed plans on manufacturing operations to be fully functional by the end of January while still working with current suppliers in a support role moving forward. “We are developing our installation qualification and verification protocols,” said Deal. “With the addition of a turret-punch press, laser/turret combo machine, press brake, metal finishing equipment, and scanning-based inspection equipment; ContainMed will have full service sheet metal capabilities to realize greater control over our processes. We are very excited to run our first parts in-house.”
